Our Inspiration

Wade and Drew Leedy, brothers and third generation co-owners of Tommy’s Pizza grew up in the restaurant industry. During the start of the craft beer craze in the early 2000’s they became immediate fans and were quick to add draft taps at Tommy’s Pizza and started chasing the good stuff for their customers. Wanting to make their own mark within the community, they decided to create their own local brew pub. They opened Fourscore Beer Co. in July 2019 with the goal of serving the freshest beer in town accompanied by scratch made pub fare food. Drink Local. Eat Local.

Our Location

During Wade and Drew’s childhood the location at 603 S. Washington St. was F&M Superior, a beer distributor. Later it was an auto parts store which eventually vacated the building around 2014. Situated within a block walking distance from Tommy’s Pizza, the location was perfect for the Leedy family. During construction only the shell of the building remained, the rest was gutted. When visiting, check out the original wooden ceiling with turnbuckle rafter ties and the antique, wooden Jamison Door Company walk-in refrigerator door that existed from the original beer distributor. After removing several layers of paint, the door was restored to its original beauty.

OUR TOWN

Being born and raised in Gettysburg, Pa, a town rich in history, Wade and Drew looked to that history when seeking inspiration for a brewery name. While Gettysburg is famously known for the turning point of the civil war and did provide a lot of inspiration, it was Abraham Lincoln’s famous words from the Gettysburg Address that ultimately provided a name that stuck. Fourscore! “Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth, upon this continent, a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.
